My Story
ABOUT ME
I grew up on the south side of Chicago in the Back of Yards neighborhood, which borders the Englewood area. At age 18, I was sent to prison for a 40-year sentence in which I did 24 years. While on the inside, I read, wrote, and studied as much as I could and earned 98 college credits. Just a few months after my release in 2013, I moved to Milwaukee and enrolled at MATC. Now, I help co-facilitate courses in the Honors Program at Marquette University and am involved in the community in many ways. My goal is to change the narrative of being a product of the carceral system to being a producer of good.
